As most of Aylesbury winds down for the Christmas break in 2025, one of the town’s most significant infrastructure milestones is quietly taking shape. From 25–28 December, engineers are undertaking the critical bridge installation for the South East Aylesbury Link Road (SEALR). This is a key structure that will eventually transform how traffic moves around the south and east of the town. While many residents are celebrating at home, this four‑day construction window marks a pivotal moment in a project designed to ease congestion, improve connectivity, and support Aylesbury’s long‑term growth.
This will mean that the usual Aylesbury to London Chiltern Rail link will be suspended over the build.
Sky Eye Imagery is on site throughout the operation, capturing the build from above as the new bridge is lifted, positioned, and secured into place. This rare Christmas engineering effort offers a unique opportunity to document the precision, scale, and coordination behind one of Buckinghamshire’s most important transport upgrades.

By the 22 December 25 one of the largest cranes in Europe was in position on the eastern side of the Aylesbury to London railway line.
The reason for the very large crane is the requirement to lift extremely heavy metal beams that will be placed across the railway tracks.
