Drone & UAV Pilot Training – 2 Hour Course

We have been kindly granted permission to operate this bespoke drone training course in a perfect location with great views. The 2 hour Drone & UAV Pilot Training Course is the perfect all round hands-on flying course for safe drone flying in the UK.

This hands on course is perfect for beginners, those that have been flying drones recreationally for some time, and those that are looking to fly drones commercially.

The course will normally run from 0900-1100 or 1300-1500 Monday to Sunday, Different times are available, please contact us to enquire. These are the main areas that will be covered within the training course.

Course Structure:

  • Small course numbers with a max of 4 pilots.
  • Arrival brief and orientation from a CAA Certified Drone Pilot.
  • Module 1: Site, Survey, Hazard Avoidance, Pre-Flight Essentials and Flight Planning.
  • Module 2: Take-off, Initial Sensor configuration, Flight Perception, Judgement & Speed Appreciation. Multiple exercises to reinforce learning.
  • Module 3: Real-life sensor configuration, Best settings for photos and videos in relation to various tasks, Tips, Ticks and Exercises.
  • Module 4: Different types of Landing and post flight checks and processing for quick upload to media platforms.

You are asked to bring your own drone with extra batteries if possible. If you do not have a drone then a DJI drone will be provided for a small additional fee.

The training day is very dependent on the weather. If the weather is not going to be suitable then an alternative day will be rebooked for free.

  • Price: £85.
  • Drone Hire for course: £30.
  • Suitable clothing. sun cream, hat, sunglasses for the course.
  • Bring any snacks and food you may require.
  • If you do not have a drone and would like to use the Sky Eye Imagery Drones you will need to obtain a Flyer ID from the CAA. Currently this is FREE and valid for 5 Years.
  • If you are bringing your own drone you should have both a Flyer ID and Operator ID from the CAA. The Operator ID is £10.33 and valid for 1 year.
  • It is suggested that you take out Drone insurance for the training with Coverdrone. The minimum is the public liability option. On average this can be below £5. It is best to take this out once a date has been confirmed.
  • Full joining instructions will be sent out once invoice sent, paid and booking is confirmed.
  • If your circumstances change you can cancel up to 48hrs in advance and receive a full refund.
  • Cancellation within 48 hours of the course start date will incur an admin charge of £30 from the refund as the location needs to be booked in advance and fees paid to secure the site.
